Child Safety Standards

குழந்தைகள் பாதுகாப்பு தரநிலைகள்

Kongu Kalyanam is a matrimonial service for adults. These are our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation, and how to report a concern.

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Zero tolerance

Kongu Kalyanam is an 18+ service. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is prohibited absolutely. Any account involved in it is removed permanently, its records are preserved for law enforcement, and the matter is reported to the appropriate authorities.

1

Our commitment

Kongu Kalyanam exists so that adults in the Kongu Vellala Gounder community can find a life partner with their families beside them. Children have no place on this platform, and nothing about it is for them. These standards are binding on every member and apply everywhere the service reaches — the Android app, the website, profile photographs and text, horoscopes, private chat, and any communication with our team.

2

What is prohibited

2.1 Child sexual abuse and exploitation

You must not, anywhere on this service:

  • Create, upload, share, request, link to, or attempt to obtain child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any depiction of a minor in sexually explicit conduct
  • Sexualise a minor in any photograph, description, message, profile field or other content
  • Contact, groom, solicit, or attempt to meet a minor for any sexual purpose
  • Extort or threaten a minor with the release of intimate imagery (sextortion)
  • Traffic, sell, or arrange the marriage of a person under 18, or facilitate any such arrangement
  • Use the service to direct anyone to CSAE material hosted elsewhere

2.2 Accounts belonging to minors

Regardless of intent, you must not:

  • Create an account if you are under 18 years of age
  • Create or maintain a profile for another person who is under 18
  • Enter a date of birth that is not your own, or misrepresent your age in any profile field, photograph or conversation

2.3 This applies whether or not the child is a member

These prohibitions cover conduct directed at any minor, including a child who has never used Kongu Kalyanam — for example sharing an image of a relative, or describing a minor in sexual terms in a private message.

3

How we keep minors off the platform

3.1 Age is checked, not merely asked

  • A date of birth is mandatory to create a profile, in the app and on the website
  • Both refuse a date of birth under 18 years old at the point of entry
  • Our servers independently reject any profile written with a date of birth under 18, including writes made by our own staff tools
  • An automated check runs on every profile: an account found to be under 18 is disabled and removed from all searches, matches and messaging

3.2 Every member is identified

  • Registration requires a one-time password sent to a working mobile number — there are no anonymous accounts
  • A profile must carry a real name, a photograph and family details before it can be seen by anyone
  • Profiles are reviewed by our team before they circulate
  • Nobody can message a member who has not accepted their interest first, so there are no unsolicited approaches from strangers

3.3 Distribution

Kongu Kalyanam is listed on Google Play for ages 18 and over only, with access by users Google identifies as minors restricted.

4

How to report a child safety concern

4.1 In the app

Open the profile, tap the ⋮ menu in the action bar, choose Report, and select "Child Safety Concern". You can also report from inside a chat using the same ⋮ menu. Reports are confidential — the person you report is never told who reported them.

4.2 On the website

Use the Report button on any profile and select "Child Safety Concern".

4.3 By email — you do not need an account

Write to kongukalyanamhelp@gmail.com with CHILD SAFETY in the subject line. Anyone may use this address, member or not, including parents, teachers and law enforcement.

Please include

  • The KK profile ID or the profile link, if you have it
  • What you saw, and where on the service you saw it
  • When it happened

4.4 Please do not collect the evidence yourself

Do not download, forward, screenshot or re-share suspected child sexual abuse material, even to show us. Possessing or transmitting it is a criminal offence in India regardless of why you did it. Tell us where it is and we will retrieve it lawfully.

4.5 What happens next

  • We acknowledge a child safety report within 24 hours
  • We act on it within 48 hours
  • A profile reported for a child safety concern is hidden immediately, before any review, and stays hidden while we look into it
5

What we do when we learn of CSAE

5.1 Immediately

  • The profile is hidden from every search, match, feed and conversation
  • The account is disabled, so it cannot sign in from any device
  • The reported content is removed from public view

5.2 On confirmation

  • The account is terminated permanently, and the mobile number is blocked from registering again
  • All uploaded photographs and files are deleted from our storage
  • No refund is given for any remaining plan, and there is no appeal

5.3 Reporting to the authorities

We preserve the account record and the relevant content for law enforcement as Indian law requires, and report confirmed child sexual abuse material to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and, where the material was hosted or transmitted through our systems, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). We cooperate fully with Indian law enforcement and with Google.

8

Where to get help in India

If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for reporting a crime.

8.1 Helplines and reporting

  • Childline India — 1098 (free, 24 hours, for any child in need of care or protection)
  • Emergency services — 112
  • National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal — cybercrime.gov.in, "Report Women/Child Related Crime" (reports may be filed anonymously)
  • National Commission for Protection of Child Rights — POCSO e-Box, ncpcr.gov.in
9

Changes to these standards

We review these standards at least once a year and whenever the law or our product changes materially. The date they were last updated is shown at the top of this page.

10. Report a child safety concern

If you believe a child is at risk on Kongu Kalyanam, or that a member is under 18, tell us. You do not need an account to do so.

Compliance
